In the build-up to the Made in the Midlands Exhibition on July 1st, 2020 Made in the Midlands member CastAlum recently returned from Nuremberg, Germany where they exhibited at the premier exhibition for the Metal Casting Industry in Europe, EUROGUSS 2020.
A total of 754 exhibitors, from 36 countries from around the globe, including several from Europe, packed the four halls of the convention centre to showcase the latest trends in technology, innovation processes and new products for the entire die casting supply chain to over 15,000 trade visitors.
Speaking about the event, Sales Manager Dennis Wicks, who attended the event on behalf of CastAlum said that, “It was surprising how few Medium-sized British companies exhibited even though UK companies have a lot to offer when it comes to innovation and product design/feasibility input.
You only have to look at how the country has a motivated workforce, a supportive government and the fact that the UK has a long history in developing innovative solutions and leading the way in both technology and design.”
Looking back at the event, Dennis explained that the most significant take-away point of the event was the wide range of industries that they connected with during the Exhibition. “The biggest take-away for us was the cross-section of industries that we met. Beyond solely Automotive, we also spoke to Construction, Furniture, Leisure, Security, Off-Highway, and Truck industries.”
With several leads and requests for quotations gained from EUROGUSS 2020, the team hopes to repeat this success at the Made in the Midlands Exhibition, on July 1st 2020 at the Ricoh Area in Coventry. When asked what CastAlum will bring to the Made in the Midlands Exhibition based on their attendance at EUROGUSS, Dennis mentioned both a, “Greater focus on our use of additive materials to achieve conformal cooling and a greater awareness of the growth areas for Aluminium Casting and Lightweighting.”
